Carbon Fiber is the standard for lightweight and strong material. Carbon fiber is made by drawing strands of organic polymers, molecules bound together by carbon atoms, and heating in the absence of oxygen such that non-carbon atoms are expelled, leaving a pure carbon strand. The result is then treated such that it will mechanically bond with resins and woven into patterns depending on the application of the fiber/sheet. The material is used in many high-end goods, from aerospace to luxury vehicles.
The pattern used in this ring is very finely detailed and finished such that it is as matte as possible. It is a truly striking contrast with the metal.
The resulting ring is LIGHT AS A FEATHER. Prepare to be surprised at how light and strong the ring is.
The inner liner of this ring is made from a genuine used bourbon Whiskey white oak barrel. Almost as much work goes into perfecting the barrel as does perfecting the iconic American whiskey. Carefully selected American White Oak is slowly dried outdoors for nearly a year. After being exposed to the rain and sun, it is kiln dried, assembled, and then charred to release the naturally occurring flavors that will be imparted to the whiskey. Though the blanks reek of whiskey, the final products (sadly, from an authenticity perspective) have no odor, having been sealed with finish.
I have many other whiskey barrel wood options besides Jack Daniels®, including Jim Beam, Maker's Mark, Stranahan's, Four Roses, and Buffalo Trace. Scotch options include Balvenie, Macallan and more.
Sizing
I highly recommend going to a jewelry counter to determine your size, even if you believe you already know your size. "Do it yourself" ring sizing methods (string, etc.) should absolutely not be trusted. Be sure to be measured using the width you plan to order.
NOTE ON WIDTH:
The minimum width for this style is 5mm. The maximum is 8mm.
Recommended width is calculated in this way: Size 5 is 5mm wide. Width increases .5mm per size above that. So:
Size 5- 5mm
Size 6- 5.5mm
Size 7- 6mm
Size 8- 6.5mm
Size 9- 7mm
Size 10- 7.5mm
Size 11+ - 8mm

Every ring is custom made to order at the exact size provided. Due to the special processes required to make this type of ring, they can be resized up by 1/4 size or down 1/2 size.
