Vintage Atlas / Dictionary Rings

Here at Wedgewood Rings, I have used a wide variety of materials from military aircraft, wood from family homes, guitar headstocks, baseball bats… too many more to name. Below, you can see a new world of customization for inlay into classic jewelry as well as modern metals. The material used for these rings come from genuine, vintage Atlases and Dictionaries from the 30s or earlier. I prefer these over modern printings because of the “look” and quality of the paper. Every ring is inlaid in metal on top of a resin-infused layer of canvas to ensure uniformity, and coated with several layers of hybrid epoxy resin for durability

Use this page to pick an existing style, or dream up any combination of maps, etchings, and definitions you would like! Feel free to reach out with your custom idea in the below form at the bottom of the page. To see my pre designed made to order rings click here.

London, England Atlas Ring

London, England Atlas Ring

Atlas Rings

A birthplace, site of a wedding, a HOME - make your ring a memory by choosing anywhere in the world to feature in Cobalt, Titanium, Ceramic, or Gold. All my vintage maps have pleasingly washed out colors that only time and classic inks can deliver.

“Faith” + “Family” Definition Ring

“Faith” + “Family” Definition Ring

Definitions

These rings are handcrafted from vintage dictionaries. This ring features your choice of word that will wrap around the ring. Usually a single word does not make it all the way around, so a secondary word will need to be chosen. The primary will overlay the secondary in places. My commitment to using vintage material over something I simply print is a real pain here. If you have a specific definition, text from a you want to send me, or something you want to write by hand and send in, let me know and we can collaborate.

Etchings / Definitions

Vintage dictionaries usually have woodcut/etched images alongside certain definitions. Not all words have them. Where they do exist, they present an opportunity. To the left is “Pug,” my second choice given the poor choice on the part of the editor to not have an image of “Shih Tzu”.
