Mokume Gane "wood grain metal" is a technique that originated in Japan in the 17th century.  Originally a technique for folding and fusing metals for swords, it is now almost exclusively in the province of the jeweler.  This pattern is the "twist" pattern.

This ring is a blend of sterling silver and white gold achieved though hours of heat, twist, and hammer.

Each ring is individually handmade for the customer.  The process is both absurdly time-consuming and expensive.  Frankly, I wouldn't offer this style ring, except the results are so undeniably exquisite.

This ring is available in 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 7mm, and 8mm widths.

This ring is available in flat or domed profile.

****PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE BE 100% SURE OF YOUR SIZE BEFORE ORDERING *****

Each ring is being custom made to order.  I highly recommend going to a jewelry counter to determine your size, even if you already know your size. "Do it yourself" ring sizing methods (string, etc.) should absolutely not be trusted. Be sure to be measured using the width you plan to order.

Rings in unworn condition can be returned for a 90% refund within 10 days of your purchase.

FAQ

How long will my custom-made ring take?

Every ring is made in America and made to order.  Your ring will ship within 14-21 days of your order.

What is your return policy?

Rings in unworn condition can be returned for a 90% refund within 10 days of your purchase.

Obviously, if there is a flaw in workmanship or if the ring was not made to the specifications you provided, the ring is accepted unconditionally for a 100% refund.

Do you ship internationally?

I ship to every country in the world.  Due to changes in USPS policy, NON-EXPRESS international packages sent to countries other than Canada can no longer be tracked past the US border. Insurance claims are also not possible. Due to this change and for your protection, international customers outside of Canada will be required to pay for USPS Global Express shipping, which in addition to guaranteeing arrival within 3-5 business days (excepting intervention from your country’s customs department), also can be tracked and insured. I wish I could offer a more economical solution, but cheaper options are too risky.

International customers are responsible for all fees associated with shipping to their respective countries. Orders that are shipped to countries outside of the United States may be subject to import taxes, customs duties and fees levied by the destination country. The recipient of an international shipment may be subject to such import taxes, customs duties and fees, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. Additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by the recipient; I have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Customs policies vary widely from country to country; you should contact your local customs office for further information. When customs clearance procedures are required, it can cause delays beyond the original delivery estimates. It is against the law and I will not mark an item as a "gift" to avoid any fees.

What size am I?

Ring sizes run from 4 to 16 including quarter sizes. I highly recommend going to a jewelry counter to determine your size, even if you already know your size. "Do it yourself" ring sizing methods (string, etc.) should absolutely not be trusted. Be sure to be measured using the width you plan to order. Keep a couple things in mind: your fingers are slightly swollen in the morning (don’t ask me why), your fingers are larger during warm weather, your fingers are larger after a meal (especially salty meals). This means that if you have your finger measured on a chilly evening before dinner, the result will be on the low end of your actual size.

If you end up ordering the wrong size, your (non-engraved) ring can absolutely be exchanged! However, there is a 10% restocking fee and it will be another 10-14 days after your ring is returned.

What is the most durable choice?

Each material has advantages and disadvantages.  From the standpoint of scratches, there is no contest. Tungsten carbide will not be scratched.  it is possible (but not easy) to shatter a Tungsten Carbide ring.  If you are open to the possibility of a non-conventional ring, I highly recommend Black Ceramic.  It is the best combination of scratch and shatter resistance.  Cobalt is extremely scratch resistant.  Black Zirconium is even more so, HOWEVER, the black, zirconium oxide is a coating.  If you do manage to scratch black zirconium, the natural silver color is permanently revealed.  The comparative softness of the precious metals is well-known and hardly need be explained here.

Engraving?

Your ring can be engraved, but it is a significant risk for the online buyer.  Returns are no longer accepted for any reason.
