This material is made much like Damascus steel - layers of different grades of Ti are folded together and etched. Not with acid like steel and NOT anodized like other colored Ti or aluminum. With extreme heat.  This causes the titanium to form colored oxidized layers at different rates.

This coloration is more durable than anodized, but is expected to scratch and wear at the same rate as any other titanium ring.

This is the absolute highest grade Koa you will see. The wood for these rings have been selected for its old-grown, chatoyant figure. Koa is known for its "curl," and this is a CURLY piece. It is very difficult to capture in pictures. I was doing some research so that I could describe the effect. I will just quote from a top google result because I cannot improve on this description: 

"Chatoyancy is a property that is usually attributed to certain gems, the cats eye effect or shimmer which gives a senseof depth in the gem. This property can also be used to describe some of the more dramatic pieces of curly, tigerstripe and fiddleback Koa. This figuring gives the wood a three dimensional quality; and depending on from what angle one views the wood, it can take on several completely different characters."*

It is a uniquely Hawaiian wood, and is one of the most prized natural products from the islands.

The minimum width for this style is 5mm. The maximum is 8mm.

Recommended width is calculated in this way: Size 5 is 5mm wide. Width increases .5mm per size above that. So:

Size 5- 5mm
size 6 - 5.5mm
Size 7- 6mm
size 8 - 6.5mm
Size 9- 7mm
etc.

Every ring is custom made to order at the exact size provided.  Due to the special processes required to make this type of ring, they cannot be resized.  A change in size would require an entirely new ring. An error in sizing that exceeds the margin provided above will necessitate a completely new ring. All rings ship via USPS Priority (or Priority International) Small Flat Rate Box. Insurance is mandatory for this ring, and included in the shipping charge. You pay what I pay for shipping, nothing more.
